Richard LubinSenior Advisor

Richard Lubin is one of five co-founders of Berkshire Partners, and is now a Senior Advisor at the firm. Richard began his career in management and consulting, specializing in the turnaround of underperforming companies. Later, he became a Partner at the Thomas H. Lee Company before co-founding Berkshire Partners in 1986. Over the years he was involved in a wide range of Berkshire’s former private equity investments. Examples of his involvement include Advanced Drainage Systems, Electro-Motive Diesel, Engineering Solutions & Products, English, Welsh & Scottish Railway, Fresh Start Bakeries, Holmes, Husky, InteSys Technologies, Mattress Firm, MBT, Papa Gino’s, Party City, Recreation Vehicle Products, Skillsoft, The Rockport Group, Thomas Built Buses, Tranz Rail, U.S. Can, Wisconsin Central Transportation, and WTI. Richard received a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
